She married JESUS MARIA MARTINEZ March 20, 1902 in Pagosa Springs, Archuleta County, Colorado, son of SEVERINO MARTINEZ and ANDREA MEDINA. He was born April 12, 1869 in Antonito, Conejos County, Colorado, and died February 24, 1934 in Trujillo, Archuleta County, Colorado.

Notes for CATALINA ARCHULETA: Mrs. Catalina Martinez, Long time resident of Archuleta County passed away at her home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado after a year's illness on September 27, 1958. Catalina Archuleta was born December 23, 1883 at Walsenburg, colorado to Marina Lucero and Demetrio Archuleta and spent her childhood there. In 1902 she married Jesus Maria Martinez in Archuleta County and she had been a resident of this County for 62 years. Mr. Mrs. Martinez made their home in Taylor Canyon near Trujillo for many years. After the death of her husband, the family moved to Pagosa Srings where she lived with a daughter Marina. She is survived by seven children Severino Martinez, floripa Martinez, Maragarita Martinez, Marina Martinez and Fred Martinez and an adopted daughter Mrs. Josie Herrera. Other survivors in addition to her children include three brothers: Candido Archuleta of Golden, Colorado, Tom Archuleta of Center, Colorado and Pablo Archuleta of SanDiego, California. Tow sisters Margarita Moreno of Magna, utah nad Mrs. Lupita Marques of Grand Junction and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist Church with Rev. Elmer O'Brien officiating. Intermnet was in Hilltop Cemetary. mrs. Martinez was one of the pioneer residents of the commuity and her many friends join her family n mouring her passing. According to Catalina Read Liles, Catalina Archuleta could read and write both Spanish and English. She had fallen 18 months before her death and was bedridden and sick much before her death. She was a rancher and a Methodist.
